Honoring Our Heroes This Thanksgiving
On November 16, 2025, the Puerto Rico Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) united in a heartfelt tribute to our nation’s veterans with a special Thanksgiving celebration. Organized by the 2026 AACA Special Nationals Committee under the leadership of President Melvin Ramos, together with AACA member Dr. Francisco Díaz Lozada, the event combined gratitude, fellowship, and the timeless spirit of antique automobiles at the Veterans Hospital in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.
The day began at Melvin’s Garage, our clubhouse, where members gathered before departing for the VA Hospital. By 9:30 a.m., approximately fifteen award-winning antique cars were parked for the veterans to admire. The sight of these classic vehicles sparked fond memories and lively conversations, as many veterans recalled the makes and models from their own past.
Several members offered informal talks, sharing the history and unique details of the automobiles on display. These exchanges created meaningful connections, blending automotive heritage with personal stories of service and sacrifice.
At midday, the veterans were surprised with a Thanksgiving lunch prepared in their honor. The atmosphere was filled with joy, gratitude, and reflection, highlighted by a warm prayer of thanks delivered by AACA member Dr. José Montañez. In a touching gesture, the VA presented each AACA member with a certificate of appreciation—tokens we will treasure as reminders of this special day.
For the Puerto Rico Region AACA, this gathering was far more than a holiday celebration. It was a sincere expression of gratitude to those who gave so much for our country and freedom. Their courage and sacrifice continue to inspire us, and we are proud to stand beside them in this season of thanks.
Looking ahead, the Puerto Rico Region AACA reaffirms its commitment to return and extend a helping hand to the heroes who have given so much for our nation.
